Species of the genus Trichogramma as well as Venturia canescens are common parasitoids that are often grown in insectariums on Ephestia kuehniella and used for biological control . The quality of the natural enemy is directly related to the quality of the host. main purpose of this study is to compare the quality of natural enemy bred on different populations of E. kuehniella. In this study, Trichogramma brassicae was used as a model of egg parasitoid and V. canescens as a model of larval parasitoid.Effect of five populations on the quality of T. brassicae and V. canescens was investigated. Different populations of E. kuehniella were collected from different regions (Gorgan, Hamedan, Khuzestan and America), compared with the laboratory population at the University of Tehran. The effect of host difference was studied by measuring parasitism of natural enemy bred on each of the five populations. The highest and lowest rates of parasitism of T. brassicae were on the eggs of Gorgan population(11.53±1.103) and laboratory population (89.2±0.58) (P˂0.001). The highest and lowest rate of egg hatching among the five treatments were related to Gorgan population (91.47) and laboratory population (37.23). The highest rate of pupal mortality was related to the laboratory population (20.97),The lowest was related to the population of Hamedan (11.83). Effect of host quality on V. canescens larvae showed that the highest and lowest number of parasitized larvae in Gorgan population (87.3±0.88). and laboratory(32.9±0.78) and a significant difference (P˂0.001) was observed between parasitizing larvae of different populations of E. kuehniella.
