During the study on free-living nematode fauna of forest trees in southeast of Khorramabad county, several samples were collected from the rhizosphere soil of oak trees in 2022 and 2023. After extraction of the nematodes from soil samples, the morphometric and morphological features of the nematodes were studied and identified using the available literature. Among the isolated nematodes, Crassolabium angulosum, C. circuliferum, C. pumilum and C. rhopalocercum species were also identified, and the first two species described using morphological, morphometric and molecular characteristics. Crassolabium angulosum is reported for the first time from Iran. The species is distinguished by cylindrical body, 1.63-1.77 mm length, slightly curved ventrad, lip region angular and offset by marked depression, amalgamated with protruding papillae, amphid fovea cup-like, amphidial aperture situated at the level of head base, odontostyle and odontophore 13-15 and 20-28 µm long, respectively, guiding ring simple and delicate, anterior part of esophagus muscular and cylindrical, pharyngeal expansion 157.5-180.0 µm long, cardia conical, genital system didelphic-amphidelphic, opposed, vulva longitudinal rectum 35.5-38.5 µm long, tail rounded to conoid and dorsally convex. In the molecular study, the D2-D3 28S rDNA region of all the four populations were sequenced, and the results of the phylogenetic analysis showed that based on the current data the genus Crassolabium is considered as polyphyletic.
