The effect of different isolates of Trichoderma namely T. virens T65, T virens T90, T. virens T96, T. virens T122, T. brevicompactum T146, T. koningiopsis T149, T. viridecense T150, T. koningii as well as two Trichodermin B and Subtilin commercial bioproducts on growth promotion in wheat were studied through seed coating method in a compeletly randomized design in a glasshouse experiment. The inoculum of Trichoderma isolates was on the average 107 conidia on each seed surface. The indicators shoot and root dry weight were empolyed for an evaluation of the treatments. Treatments T90, T96, T122, T146, T149, isolates mixture, Trichodermin B and Subtilin significantly promoted wheat plant growth. They increased roots by 7.7, 13.2, 8.6, 9.6, 8.2, 10.7, 11.1 and 11.1 percent dry weight and shoots by 7.7, 9.3, 8.5, 9, 8.2, 9.5, 8.9 and 8.3 percent dry weight respectively and as compared with control. The effect of Trichoderma isolates on plant growth promotion is associated with the antagonistic effect of the isolate on the pathogens. The commercially production of safe and pesticide residue free crops is made possible through an employment of this antagonist as well as other appropriate bioagents.
